An experience that taught me what good writing is
When i was entering into my junior year english class i was terrified. I had the oh so terrifying Millie Horton. She was known as the toughest class in my academic challenging high school. I was entering her class knowing that she failed 60 % of her class the year before. I thought six out of ten people in my class wouldn't be enjoying their summer at the beach or making some money working, but spending most of their precious summer days looking at a computer screen working on english exercises. Since I enjoyed my Charleston summer more than anything I knew what I had to do. Suck up to Ms. Horton and make sure I got a 68.5( the lowest grade you could get and still pass). Time dragged on slowly the first week of school and it was time for our first essay. Iw orked on it right away and it was time to turn in the paper. I got a 70. Super! I worked on an essay all week, and what do i get... a 70. I went into talk to her about the paper I wrote. She talked to me and explained to me some of my rookie mistakes in writing, it was mostly my wordiness and surprisingly not my grammar. After having time to talk to Ms. Horton, I realized she wasn't the english teaching monster that our school had her out to be but a person that was there for you to help you out. And thats an experience that taught me what good writing was.

Sometimes those harder teachers that we fear are the ones who end up making the ultimate difference in a subject. Kudos to you and Ms. Horton for getting together and working to make your writing better! Thanks!
